When Chege Went All Out

One thing you should note is there are days that Chege was exceptional. Sometimes Chege would spend on me until I had enough of everything I wanted. On such days, Chege won’t complain of the amount of money he spends. Such days are rare though.

A good example was December 2019. I had complained how I would love to go for a special outing before my birthday on January 5th because I would have resumed work. Chege would assure me that he would do something about it and go mum. I thought he never had any plans for me so I dropped the idea.

We spent Christmas together and Chege wasn’t talking about any trip or my birthday. Chege surprised me on December 27th by telling me to get ready because we were heading somewhere. Chege told me not to pack anything because he would buy me everything I needed when we got to our destination. I guessed we were heading to Naivasha.

He only instructed me to take my phone and step out. I noticed Chege had hired a car which was unlike him and I instantly knew there was no way we were heading to Naivasha.

We started the journey and Chege told me that we were heading to Mombasa. It was unbelievable. Chege had never hinted that we would travel anywhere during the festivities.

We got to Mombasa at around 6PM, went to his cousin’s boutique at Kongowea and Chege told me to shop as much as I wanted. If Chege gives you this go ahead, don’t hesitate, this opportunity comes once in a blue moon.

I was shocked to find out that Chege booked our accommodation for five nights at Azul Margarita Beach Resort , 1 bedroom full board for five nights. If you know Azul, you can guess how expensive it gets during Christmas. You can imagine he did last minute booking that’s why he couldn’t get flights or SGR and Chege can’t allow me to take public transport for all those hours. This is why he settled on car hire.

For the first time in my life, I had five days of wasting his money. Chege gave me the go-ahead to get whatever I wanted in Mombasa. His only job was to pay. No questions, no suggestions. I left Mombasa with 3 suitcases, a new laptop and phone. I literally got everything my heart yearned for the whole year.

On this trip, I can’t tell you how much he spent but you can just estimate by the price of the accommodation plus a standard laptop, a standard Samsung phone, 3 suitcases of new clothes plus the daily movements. I’ll only tell you that he spent a lot. And this was the best birthday ever. I still call him on my birthdays for that Mpesa😊

Don’t forget, such days are rare. We shall go back to the stingy Chege.fb img 1762784684386
